CCP the makers of MMORPG Eve Online have released some new videos showing the inside of stations in greater detail. Various ships are shown flying around the stations of each of the four races. This demonstrates the graphical capabilities that I’m yet to see in any other online game.
Whether this eludes to an update in the future allowing you to actually dock I’m not so sure. The developers have said that they are concentrating on other features, and that being able to see your ship dock would be a bit of a one off thing, you wouldn’t want to see it every time you docked, plus it would add unnecessary time to the process of getting in and out of a station, which you would surely skip like a cutscene after the novelty wears off.
The series of videos also includes a look at the new planet graphics, which do look awesome!
I’ll be waiting until for some more news about walking in stations personally. I think this feature would bring across a wider audience from other games.
